“The Fellowship was instrumental in affirming for me that relationships are always at the heart of true and lasting social change.”

The organization I will be a part of this year is grounded in years of efforts by community members to support food sovereignty and justice. I will specifically be supporting an initiative to develop a regional food hub in Antigonish– a centre for aggregating local producers’ goods to help mitigate some of the challenges that both small producers and buyers and institutions face in maintaining and supporting small-scale farming operations. In my role, I hope to help create space for new voices to be included in the initiative and to share the compelling stories of those already involved.
